Ongoing research of the Floristic Diversity Research Group is supported by the Molecular Cryptic Diversity Lab and the Morphometric Microscopy Lab.

Our team is comprised of professional botanists, researchers, and graduate students with expertise in plant DNA barcoding, floristic diversity, ethnobotany and cryptogamic plants.

OAC Herbarium

The OAC Herbarium is housed in the new Centre for Biodiversity Genomics, and in addition to the main collection, also contains the Aboriginal Repository of Knowledge (ARK), the Barcode of Life collections, as well as a Botanical Library.

The Herbarium can be accessed online via the Herbarium Information Management System (HIMS), as well as the Plant Press which publishes floras, field guides and books authored by team members within the Botany Division, Centre for Biodiversity Genomics.

FOIBIS

FOIBIS includes about 5,039 species, including vascular plants, bryophytes and lichens, that grow in the province of Ontario. It includes native species as well as some ornamentals, weeds, invasive alien plants, arctic disjuncts and agricultural plants.
