Steven Newmaster is an Associate Professor within the department of Integrative Biology. The research interests of Steve Newmaster and the Floristic Diversity Research Group encompass a wide array of topics, allowing us to explore the linkages between them. We have expertise and ongoing projects in forest ecology, crytogamic taxonomy, ethnobotany and plant DNA barcoding. Graduate students are involved in lichen ecology and systematics, bryophyte genome size, silviculture in boreal systems, and taxonomy of neotropical Compsoneura.
